Supporting Our
Community Together
We can connect hearts, transform lives and foster a sense of belonging for everyone
Our Core Initiatives
Empowering change for a brighter tomorrow
Community
Development
Meet new friends at a range of free workshops for volunteers, and dance at our uplifting community markets which have a mix of live and recorded music from rock to techno, with an open bar under the trees. This initiative was developed to support the reintegration of our fractured society, and break down barriers to improved wellbeing.
We understand that confidence can be shaken and we need a boost.
We understand that life sometimes hands us lemons, but we welcome lemonade stalls.
We believe that community and purpose makes a huge impact on wellbeing, and this alone can help us feel positive about getting back to work.
Soul Food
The wellbeing of all in society is important to us. Many of us have struggled at one or more points in our lives and have felt isolated, and we know that the welcoming environment of the community markets is a therapeutic space, but it takes many hands to make light work. As part of being a volunteer we encourage you to help set up and take down the events and maybe helping us cook and run the great value healthy community café from biscuits to BBQ or curry.
Workshop Team
This is a therapeutic and developmental space at the beginning of market events where we set you up and empower you to help show members of the public how to make their own.
Examples of products we would love to develop with you cover a wide range and will continue to expand with new ideas and there are thousands of ideas out there that will include:
- Stained-glass necklaces/ window hangers.
- Painting pint glasses.
- Collage landscapes are great fun from entry level to pro artist.
- Making a game for the markets, such as bounce the ping pong ball into the thing or flip the thing/ knock the thing off the thing.
- Personalising plates with images of your choice.
- Create a short film about what's already going on in your community.
- Help develop our amazing outside spaces from decor and lights to gardening.
Bright Futures
To help raise money from the event bar we plan to treat volunteers to apple picking days with BBQ's. We will press and pasteurise apple juice for sale at the markets as well as keeping traditional values alive by making a special range of OurPatch cider.

Connecting Hearts and Helping Hands
Building a better future through compassion
History
Behind this business is James Le Peuple, the founder of OurPatch Ltd, who previously had run a community garden in Worthing and Brighton with the support from kind-hearted, unemployed adults, many with learning disabilities. Many years later, James met and married Becky and together, they decided to run their own community markets after having sold their own products in markets across Bristol.
ISP
After a year of successful markets which developed increasing sales for a range of talented artisans, James realised he could develop the initiative into a self-propelling CIC where workshops could be run during and/or before markets where people are welcome to sit and be creative with guidance while perhaps enjoying a coffee from the community café also run by volunteers. Furthermore, the goal was to teach volunteers to make items they are proud of which (as well as taking home), they could sell on our own volunteer-run market stall to reinvest some money to the CIC.
